Accomplished!” at Mission Arlington
the third year in a row, a group of HTG
volunteers boarded a bus from the Hilton Anatole
in Dallas bound for Mission Arlington, all with
one common goal: have fun, make a difference and
share in the mission of serving others.
Over 40 volunteers including HTG employees and members
Mission Arlington and were greeted by
Executive Director Tillie Burgin, who has been
serving the people of her community for more
than two decades. Almost instantly, one can
notice Tillie’s passion for serving and the work
she is doing at Mission Arlington and in the
volunteers were separated into three groups, as
to divide and conquer, and make the most of our
time to clean the medical and dental clinics,
sort household items, and move and handle large
boxed donations from trucks into the building.
After the work was completed, our group gathered
again, not exhausted, but almost re-energized,
from the feeling of helping those in our
community who are in need, if only for a couple
of hours. We even had enough energy and high
enough spirits to join Tillie and her team in
year, Mission Arlington provided school supplies
to approximately 9,000 students. To offer our
support, supplies were collected throughout the
week in Dallas at the HTG Registration Desk.
Hands That Give was able to donate bags, paper,
markers, crayons and other basic essential
supplies. We are thankful to all those who
contributed to our cause and dropped off
donations during the week.
are especially thankful to our friends at the
Hilton Anatole who made a generous donation of
school supplies for Mission Arlington, as well
as, the members of HTG22 who
donated the cash
winnings of their Best Idea Contest.
