Do you find that while your HTG Peer Group delivers TREMENDOUS value on the Infrastructure and Managed Services side you are alone when it comes to issues in your App Dev business simply because few other members offer those services? Do you want to have a place where you can talk process, sales, best practices, and other topics focused SPECIFICALLY on an application development practice? Would you like to connect members of your App Dev team with other people in similar positions? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then the HTG App Dev SIG may be exactly what you’ve been looking for. This group meets twice a year at the HTG All Meetings, but is scheduled either right before or after all of the other HTG events so you don’t have to miss anything. Additionally, members frequently collaborate throughout the year on an ongoing basis as issues arise. A few spaces have opened up, and so the group is again looking to recruit a few good members.

The group is targeted at individuals that have P & L responsibility for an App Dev business or a practice area within an HTG company. Issues discussed are business focused – this is not a technical group. Extreme Technology Makeover: The Go Giver Edition
Presented by :Monique Rogers, Corporate Administration and Marketing Director of ARRC Technology
Erik Barnlund, CEO of Mavidea Technology Group LLC

“Don’t say that you want to give, but go ahead and give! You’ll never catch up with mere hope.”-Goethe

The success of the “Home-makeover” TV shows and events over the past few years are evident. The scenario is: A family’s home is in bad shape, so a team of professionals provide donated labor, materials, and finances and “makeover” the house. This same concept applies to the Extreme Technology Makeover. A company or organization’s technology requires desperate improvement, so a team of technology professionals with the same type of donated items help to improve that company’s technology and office situation. And, it’s all completed with the HTG Go-Giver attitude!

This session will explain how two HTG companies, Mavidea Technology Group and ARRC Technology, successfully implemented their Technology Makeovers while also discussing:

• Creation—The “how to” on what to do (and not do) when developing your Makeover offering
• Involvement—Creating your circle of support for successful donations of time and assets
• Marketing Strategies—Positioning your Makeover for the right coverage and media
• Implementation—Execution and proper planning to ensure success

Don’t miss this opportunity to strategically plan and execute a great event that can help others in a big way. The residual effects of giving and helping others are immeasurable. Involving your business, employees and a giving heart will reap rewards for years. Do it today!

The Dandelion Marketing Culture: How to increase your odds of 'going viral

You Want and Need Your Story To “Go Viral”
Successful marketing in a social media world is about having your message spread despite the intense competition of billions of other channels for the attention of your desired audience.
If you want to increase your odds of marketing success in this environment, of having your story “go viral,” you need to start thinking like a Dandelion.

Thinking Like a Dandelion
In his excellent book, “Free: The Future of a Radical Price,” Chris Anderson introduces us to the idea that the best way for nature to “fully explore [a] potential space,” is through a “scattershot strategy.” A strategy epitomized by, yes, the dandelion.

The dandelion’s objective is to create really low-cost seeds that can be spread to as many places as possible and thereby maximize growth and the chance for future survival.  The way that your organization implements the ‘scattershot strategy?’

Build the Dandelion Marketing Culture
Join Jeremy Epstein, Marketing Navigator of Never Stop Marketing, as he introduces you to the six components of the Dandelion Marketing Culture, offers guidance on how you can build this culture yourself, and capitalize on the strengths (and opportunities) that the billion channel world of social media provides you.  Here’s a sneak preview:

The six components of a Dandelion Marketing Culture are:
1. Know the Commander’s Intent
2. EVERYONE is in marketing.
3. Brand: Feel Over Look.
4. Agile Marketing Development
5. High Fault Tolerance.
6. Rapid Feedback Loops.

Marketing Survival Strategies for the Attention Economy
One of the most influential social scientists of the 20th century, Herbert Simon, remarked that “a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.” Simon succinctly wraps up the challenges facing marketers in the Internet era. Inundated by information and media from all sides, prospects and clients continue to tune out and ignore traditional marketing tactics and message. Firms of all sizes (with clients of all sizes) struggle with the central question:  How do we effectively cut through all the noise to establish authentic dialogue and relationships and… make money?

Join Jeremy Epstein, a “Marketing Navigator for the Attention Economy,” in a lively, interactive (and remarkable!) presentation that will:

1. help you understand the fundamental macro-societal shifts impacting marketers
2. provide guidelines for how to thrive as a marketer in the new environment
3. share the ground rules for the new marketing
4. educate you on the key concepts of using Social Media as a marketing channel
5. offer suggestions on the first steps on the road to a Word-of-Mouth/Social Media marketing strategy

10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m Staff Clinic - IT Solutions and Managed Services Sales Focus (Part 2 of 2)
MSP University’s Sales Training Workshops help your organization create and/or improve your solution and service-specific sales techniques for all of your products and services. As your sales process should be consistent regardless of the solution or product being sold, your team will work with our instructors to understand the subtle differences in the sales approach based on each deliverable, and learn how to focus their conversations with prospects and clients to identify pain, discuss alternatives and promote solutions correctly, instead of promoting solutions, identifying pain and discussing alternatives.
Role Play

The importance of role-playing each critical phase of the sales process cannot be overstated, and MSP University instructors work with attendees in teams to guide and facilitate proper techniques in the following areas:
      ●Warm-Up
      ● Qualifying
      ● Presentation
      ● Overcoming Objections
      ●Closing

In this day and age when it seems rules and laws are no longer held in high esteem and many in our society now operate on an "anything goes" basis, come hear why and how Character is still the most important part of Leadership, and extremely significant in terms of influencing others positively in the home, workplace and community.  Driving home this point, we are privileged to get a personal glimpse into the life of someone who demonstrated great leadership through character on a daily basis for over 5 years while a POW in the Hanoi Hilton in Vietnam.  As leaders, we are only as strong as the leaders around us.  John C. Maxwell says, "Leadership is influence, nothing more and nothing less."
